Women's Experiences
Shattered Dreams by Charlotte Fedders - courageous book by the former wife of the former head of the S.E.C. Although this was an intermittently physically abusive relationship, the dynamics of control and submission are striking. Describes nice and happy times and thus the confusion of women in abusive relationships.
Because I Remember Terror, Father, I Remember You by Sue William Silverman - biography of a beautiful woman brought up with severe abuse by a father who was also a high government official. Again, the dynamics of control and fear in a family with a very respectable public facade.
